House of Silence; FORM

Said in very few words........................

Architects: FORM
Location: Shiga Prefecture, Japan
Year: 2012

The client wanted a house that was not influenced by its environment.  With limited access points and windows, the public areas manage to maintain a fair level of natural daylighting due to the open flow of the plan and porosity of the structures transition between levels.  The home successfully contains a variety of special rooms and spaces undetected from the exterior, a goal accomplished by designers.

The interior is divided by ceiling height, the different levels of floor and type of lighting, and is connected by the circulation line of flow.
