House in Nakameguro

Tokyo is known for its small compact homes that take on the form of the uniques sites within they conform to.  This small house in Meguro, Tokyo, Japan stands in a small site in the center of the city.  The four story hose was built to fit the proportions of the neighboring 3 story buildings, which led to some interesting perspectives and interior spaces.

The adjusted form allows for annular abstract openings creating a continuous ribbon of light in the interior space.  the furniture arranged on the facade side has an unusual arrangement and is treated as an extension of the building giving the space suitable scale and enables the space to be used effectively.
