Spanish Social Housing Tower Puts the Luxury in Housing Projects

The tower E.I.O.5 is a social housing project developed by INCASOL, located in a new central zone known as Placa Europa (Europa Square).  The square is a generous public space open to each side of Gran Via which contains a concentration of 26 mixed use towers serving public and private functions between 15 and 20 floors.  Tower 5 is located in the farthest crown from the Gran Via.  Most of the buildings in the final phase on the development project will be public housing promoted by various companies.

The buildings facade is groups by floors of 3, giving a cinematographic illusion of a 5 story building.  A careful and tasteful selection of materials and treatments pulled this off quite well.  the designers played with proportion and scale throughout the building to achieve a pattern of large inverted tribunes.  All materials used in the construction of the project are 100% recyclable, and the facade materials come from 65% and 100% already recycled materials.
